Patricia Villoslada EVP Transdev Autonomous Transport Systems, explains how they are integrating last-mile autonomous transport as part of a complete end-to-end mobility solution. Working with partners, including ZF. e.Go and Torc Robotics (Daimler recently purchased a majority stake in Torc), Transdev also introduced new autonomous shuttle intended for solving connectivity for public transit deserts.
Given Transdev’s role as a worldwide operator of public transit systems, the Autonomous Transport System ATS by Transdev is a complete solution that includes an integrated payment and route app, operations and maintenance of the shuttle fleet, and integration into a larger mobility solution. Patricia Villoslada explains that employing relatively small, autonomous shuttles in the last-mile offers the potential for aggregating passengers to drive demand for public transit use.
