The Akimbo Video Review

In this review of the service, Roger Bindl mixes animation and video to provide a very entertaining and illuminating view of a method people will increasingly use to view television. Appropriately, at CTAM last week, Akimbo announced that they are offering their service to cable companies to help them provide their customers with the “long-tail” of video on demand.
Roger’s review of the service provides some interesting insight into how the service changes people’s behavior. He suggested that, in addition to interacting with the television, he found that the length and the way the programming was retrieved caused him and his wife to interact with each other as they discussed what they would watch. He said that the ala-carte charges for programming are a minor annoyance, as he quickly ran up a bill of over $20 by purchasing forty nine cent movies.
