I should know, as I am listening to the sessions over and over again. This is because I am doing the post-production work on the CD-ROM for that conference as I write. As mentioned in the last newsletter, local content will be one of the themes this year. In fact, in this month\u2019s OPASTCO Roundtable<\/em><\/strong> magazine, there is an article penned by yours truly regarding independent telcos and the creation of local content. To read the complete article, you have to be a member of OPASTCO, http:\/\/www.opastco.org\/<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Speaking of local content<\/strong>, Viodi is organizing a workshop<\/strong> to discuss what is required for an independent telco to participate in the creation of local content. In this workshop, we will share what we have learned from own experience, other producers and independent telcos regarding the creation and distribution of local content. The workshop text book, which is included, will be the Computer Videomaker Handbook<\/strong> (reviewed in the last issue of the Viodi View).<\/p>\n This workshop will be affordable and convenient thanks to the efforts of Paradyne<\/strong> and Cisco<\/strong>. Viodi will be joining them on a tour that they are leading that includes participation from Tut, Myrio and Widevine <\/strong> and will take us through 11 cities in a two month period. I will give an update on that interesting conference in the next issue.<\/p>\n The Korner:<\/strong><\/p>\n So, noticing how popular the photo of me with some of the stars of the new cable network, Reality Central<\/strong>, was, I figured I would try to repeat this click-through success by taking a photo with a few of the stars of Paradyne, Trish Bocutti, and Teresa Sperry<\/strong>.
