Another Subtle Technique for Promoting Video Services – Or Any Other Telco Service
by Ken Pyle
One of the things I heard repeatedly at the NLC User’s group is that a key to a telco’s success in adding a new service, like video, is the importance of informing the subscriber-base of the new offering. And multiple media and methods must used, if a telco is going to change the perception that it is “only a telephone company”. Independent telcos can exploit their local connections to market their services in ways that are difficult, if not impossible, for national providers.
For instance, some independent telcos report that up to 20% of their bills are paid at the business office. This is a significant amount of foot-traffic. It is also a great opportunity for the independent telco to transform their retail office into an entertainment showroom.

With this in mind, Viodi has struck a deal with Schult Industries, a leader in the production and design of theatrical-style poster frames and signage, whereby Viodi will represent Schult in the independent telephone company market. Schult has a wide variety of poster frames to give a telco the Hollywood look and feel. And it is possible to take that look and feel on the road, with a Schult tradeshow booth that is easily set-up for local community events.
Besides poster frames, Schult produces a wide selection of signage that would useful for any telco, regardless of whether or not they are providing video services.
